You operate the camera from a “teacher friendly” control panel in the 3Cam software. Teachers using the Promethean ActivClassroom have the option of launching that control panel from a 3Cam icon that appears within the Promethean ActivStudio or ActivInspire toolbar. Like the teacher pictured on the front cover (in the pdf link below), you can annotate over any live projected image that is displayed on an IWB. Enlarge or reduce your image simply by using the zoom tool in the 3Cam control panel or in any IWB software.

Thanks to the 3Cam’s high frame rate of up to 30 frames per second, the unit also operates as a classroom video camera. You can view or record classroom activities in real time. By simply attaching a wired or wireless microphone to your computer, you can also record audio into your video recording. You will not see the “jerkiness” common in the video playback on document cameras with lower frame rates. control panel from a 3Cam icon on the Promethean software toolbar. With the 3Cam, you
can show live images on your IWB and annotate over them. You can also capture a still
photo with the 3Cam and paste it into a digital lesson plan. Zoom in via photo mode in
any IWB software. Record full motion video and paste it into your digital lesson plan. Store

The extremely high light sensitivity rating of the 3Cam provides a brighter, truer color
image than document cameras which are lighted. Problematic glare and hot spots (found
in images from all lighted document cameras) are eliminated. This is especially important
when viewing glossy objects like overhead transparencies, magazine pages and photos.

Flexible Gooseneck Design:
Allows the camera head to be positioned at any angle or height. Point the camera head
toward a still object under the camera, the class or teacher. Then, view or record still photos

Power and image transmitted through the USB cable:
Simple one cord operation. A separate power cable or power brick is NOT required. The
3Cam works globally (i.e. no power converters are necessary) because the power passes
through the computer and USB cable.
